Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our construction and renovation team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential, commercial, and industrial painting projects, with a strong understanding of various painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from restoration to new construction, utilizing a broad skill set that includes blueprint reading, carpentry, and surface finishing. Duties
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and repairing as needed
Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other finishes using hand tools and power tools such as airless paint sprayers
Read blueprints and schematics to determine project scope and specifications
Execute residential, commercial, and industrial painting projects with attention to detail and safety standards
Perform renovation tasks including drywall installation, trim carpentry, stucco application, and fixture installation
Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project requirements and materials needed
Assist with remodeling and restoration projects by providing skilled surface finishing and repair work
Maintain a clean work environment and ensure proper storage of tools and materials
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Requirements
Proven experience in residential, commercial, or industrial painting; construction site experience preferred
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and airless paint spraying equipment
Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math skills
Familiarity with surface preparation techniques such as plastering, caulking, masonry, stucco application, and concrete finishing
Skills in carpentry including trim carpentry and frame carpentry; maintenance person experience is a plus
Ability to work safely at heights and on scaffolding; adherence to safety protocols required
Strong understanding of color theory for accurate color matching and finishes
Experience with restoration work or renovation projects is desirable
Valid construction site experience including knowledge of schematics and industrial painting techniques
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to various project requirements such as welding or fixture installation when needed
