Job Description
Assist with preparing, cutting, packing, and displaying meat products under the guidance of the Butchery Manager.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety, including correct handling, storage, and cleaning practices.
Ensure cabinets, counters, and displays are stocked, rotated, and presented to company standards.
Provide friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable service to customers.
Assist with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries to ensure stock accuracy.
Support the team with daily cleaning and sanitising of equipment, tools, and work areas.
Follow health & safety requirements and company policies at all times.
Assist with stocktaking and minimising wastage.
Skills & Attributes
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
Willingness to learn butchery techniques and product knowledge.
Ability to work in a cold, fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
Physically fit and able to lift heavy products safely.
Flexible and reliable with working hours.
Experience
Previous experience in a butchery, supermarket, or food handling role is an advantage but not essential.
On-the-job training will be provided.
