We are currently seeking a skilled Panel Beater to join our dedicated team at our Melbourne facility.
About the Role:
As a member of the aftercare division, you will be responsible for repairing and fabricating boat hulls and components using fiberglass, composite, and timber. There is also opportunity for significant involvement in our R&D division should you be successful upon application. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a background in automotive or marine bodywork who takes pride in precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
· Punctuality and good attendance
· Assess and repair damage to fiberglass and composite boat structures.
· Remove, repair, and replace damaged panels and components.
· Perform sanding, grinding, fairing, and surface preparation.
· Use bonding, filling, and finishing techniques to restore surfaces.
· Work closely with boat builders, laminators, and spray painters.
· Ensure all work meets Haines Hunter’s high standards of quality and safety.
What You’ll Need:
· Experience as a panel beater, preferably in marine or automotive industries.
· Skilled in working with fiberglass.
· Ability to read and interpret technical instructions.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
· Physically fit and comfortable working in a workshop environment.
· Ability to problem solve and work as a team to hit targets.
Desirable:
· Trade qualification in panel beating or marine fabrication.
· Experience with gelcoat repair and composite lay-up techniques.

Pay: $53,507.1+ – $85,000.00 per year
