Key Responsibilities
Fault Diagnosis:Detect and diagnose problems in engines, transmissions, steering systems, and other mechanical components.
Repairs and Maintenance:Repair and replace worn or defective parts, and perform scheduled maintenance services.
Reassembly and Testing:Reassemble mechanical components after repair and test them for proper performance.
Diagnostic Technology:Utilize computers and specialized software to diagnose and test parts.
Roadworthiness:Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or provide details for required repairs.
Skills and Qualifications
Qualification:Completion of an Australian Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (AUR30620) or a comparable qualification.
Technical Skills:Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems, including ignition, steering, suspension, and braking systems.
Computer Literacy:Ability to use electronic vehicle diagnostic software and other computer-assisted diagnostic tools.
Problem-Solving:Strong aptitude for identifying and resolving mechanical issues effectively.
Work Environment
Motor mechanics typically work in garages or workshops.
Shift work and weekend shifts may be required.
The work can be physically demanding.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $95,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
