Location: New Hyde Park, NY
Schedule: M - F, 7 AM - 3:30 PM
Reports to: Shop Manager
Salary Range: $18 - $21/hour + benefits
Power-Flo Technologies is now hiring a Panel Shop Helper to join our UL Certified Panel Shop in New Hyde Park. You will strive to provide safe electrical systems for a variety of customers.
Panel Shop Helper Responsibilities :
You will assist the technicians and gain experience with the following:
- Reading and following electrical schematics
- Laying out panel backplates
- Wiring panels in the shop based off a schematic
- Assembling of various electrical components
- Installing and repairing electrical equipment and fixtures
- Installing various types of raceway and cable tray systems
- Troubleshooting motor and control systems
- Performing routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems
- Adhering to all quality and safety codes
- Installing and repairing electrical equipment and fixtures
- Building Panels UL 508
- Panel assembly and box build assembly
Panel Shop Helper Qualifications :
- Previous experience, training, or schooling in electrical work
- Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools and other power tools
- Willingness to learn
- Valid and clean NYS driver's license to operate company vehicles as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work on elevated platforms
- Ability to climb ladders
- This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reaching
- You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions
- Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills may be required for hand tools, power tools, and other machinery
