Job Description
Our Melbourne office is seeking a Paralegal to support two attorneys practicing in the areas of estate administration, guardianship, and trust and estate litigation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer phones and greet clients
Schedule and confirm appointments
Client intake
Manage files, including electronic filing, scanning, photocopying, and mailing
Create and maintain physical and electronic case files
Prepare pleadings, notices, correspondences, and other documents
Conduct legal and factual research
Track deadlines, calendars, and court dates
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and judicial assistants
Prepare hearing and trial binders
Assist in drafting and assembling discovery responses
Assist attorneys and paralegals with other tasks as needed
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
US work authorization
Two or more years of administrative and/or client-relations experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook & Word
Must be tech-savvy and have the ability to manage existing client database
Superior oral and written communication skills within a professional setting
Must be organized and able to function effectively in an extremely busy, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Ability to work independently with little supervision and be a problem-solver
Strong attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
Ability to multi-task, manage, and prioritize work daily
Ability to learn and follow new procedures
Excellent client care and focus
Ability to assess clients’ needs and provide the correct answer, path, troubleshooting, or method for a positive client experience
Punctual and reliable
