Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a leading Oil & Gas company based out of Calgary, AB. We are currently hiring a Paralegal to join their team on a 12 Month Contract basis. This candidate will be required to work in a hybrid working environment (2-3 days in office).
Your new role
• Providing paralegal support in the area of Indigenous Relations, including drafting complex legal agreements, various resolutions and other corporate information as required;
• Coordinating the preparation of, timelines, and legal requirements for project agreements;
• Providing paralegal support in the area of Indigenous Relations, including preparing agreements, drafting resolutions, ensuring proper execution of agreements and further handling for internal signature of all agreements as well attending to ongoing governance matters;
• Provide ongoing support to IR business initiatives and projects, as required;
• Work with Business Analysts to facilitate commitment documentation, tracking, and filing as required;
• Support coordination of departmental training as required;
• Support development and completion of departmental reporting as required;
• Provide back-up support to Business Analysts as needed; and
• Other tasks as required.
What you'll need to succeed
• Minimum three years of paralegal or related experience;
• Completion of a recognized Paralegal program or certificate
• Excellent communication, written and oral, and presentation skills;
• Strong planning and organizational skills;
• Clear understanding of Indigenous engagement across the lifecycle of various projects;
• Excellent inter-cultural skills;
• Advanced computer skills in Word;
• Strong legal drafting skills.
