The role
We are currently looking for an intelligent and enthusiastic full-time Paralegal to join our Restructuring, Recoveries & Disputes team in our Brisbane office. In this role you will need to provide both accurate and timely support to the team, you will be a confident individual with a can-do attitude and excellent communication skills.
Duties
Drafting Notices, demands, pleadings and general correspondence
Drafting statements of claim, judgments, writs of possession
E-filing of court documents
Assisting with the general management and running of files to meet client service level requirements and protect our clients' interests on all matters
Telephone calls and general correspondence with clients, debtors and third parties to progress the files (involves taking instructions, negotiating proposals with debtors)
Regular follow ups of security packets, process servers, court documents etc.
Preparing discharge of mortgages and arranging settlement, as required
Preparing files for eviction
Identifying complex, sensitive and high risk matters and escalating them to a Lawyer
Basic clerical duties associated with running your files
Our requirements
Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for running a file
Strong organisational skills to manage a large number of files at a time and meet deadlines
Good interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, debtors and internal staff
A team player, willing to help others when necessary
Accuracy and attention to detail

About You
Suitable candidates will bring strong litigation experience preferably in personal injury insurance
A current practising certificate for VIC and a minimum of 6 years PQE
You are self-driven, have excellent verbal and written communication, and time management skills
You have a collaborative approach, maintain professionalism, focus on clients, and support your colleagues
