Our Family lawyers support clients with all matters of family related legal issues, such as divorce, prenuptial agreements, resolving financial matters and much more. The team forms part of the wider nationally recognised Private Client department of around 50 lawyers spanning across all four office locations and are ranked in the top tier of Legal 500.
Our Watford Family team are growing and excited to be recruiting a new opportunity for a Paralegal to join us on a full time basis.

We're looking for a detail-oriented and organised Paralegal to provide a mix of legal, administrative, and secretarial support to the Partner and Solicitor, as well as assist the wider Family team as and when required. You're eager to help in any way you can, to enable the team to provide the best possible service to our clients. You'll manage calendars, schedule meetings, prepare court bundles, take notes and so much more.
A paralegal role at VWV provides the perfect building blocks for future trainee solicitors looking to gain experience ahead of starting a training contract. We're proud of our record in transitioning a good proportion of our existing paralegals into trainee solicitors.

Whilst this unusual time has proved we can work effectively as a business from home, we're currently working to a hybrid model of office and home working. The Private Client department are predominately office based, so although we're happy to discuss specific hybrid working with candidates, the expectation is that you will be based in Watford at least 3-4 days per week.

An interest/passion for family law is the key! We really want to hear from those who are genuinely seeking out opportunities in this sector.
You'll have a law degree and any previous paralegal experience will undoubtedly help you to transition into the role more easily, especially if it's in Family law.
It's a busy role so you'll be organised, an excellent all-round communicator with proficient IT skills using Microsoft Office, someone who's motivated by the team's successes ahead of their own and your calm, professional phone manner will be a fantastic first impression for our private clients.
Your audio typing experience will really come in handy in this role. More importantly you're happy to help no matter how small the task.
