Part Time Cook
Job description
Here at All Things Wild Nature Centre in Honeybourne, we are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team on a fixed-term basis.
This post will include weekends, working 3-5 days per week.
The ideal candidate would be someone who has experience in a similar busy café environment, who understands how to prioritise in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The role will include the preparation of food and beverages, ensuring hygiene levels are maintained to a high standard and providing customers with excellent levels of customer service.
Duties will include:
• Preparation of food to meet daily requirements
• Deputising for the head cook in his absence
• Supervising casual staff
• Clean down of kitchen area
• Operating the till
• Serving customers in a pleasant and courteous manner
• Cleaning the kitchen and café area in accordance with Health
• and Safety Regulations and Guidance
• Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness at all times
• Keeping cleaning and temperature records
• Shared running of our Dino Diner food outlet.
Key requirements:
• Experience in a similar busy café environment
• Able to work at least one weekend day
• Ability to work on own initiative and be confident in running the kitchen in the Head Cook’s absence.
• Must be able to anticipate for fluctuations in level of business.
• Must have a ‘can do’ attitude
• An excellent time keeper
• Work well as part of a team
• Be able to communicate well and support a team of casual, part time staff to ensure the café maintains its current standards
Desirable:
• Experience of catering for children and adults
• DBS checked
• A minimum of Level 2 in Food Preparation, or its equivalent, as well as Level 2 Food Safety, or willingness to undertake training as required.
