Part-Time Medical Receptionist
Location: In-Clinic (Calgary, Alberta)
Background:
Euclid Telehealth is seeking a seasoned and skilled Part-Time Medical Receptionist for our rapidly growing company.
The medical receptionist will support the clinical staff to meet its goals in the provision of accessible, high-quality, patient centered care by providing clerical, reception functions; assisting in the quality of care through the management of accurate records; ensuring the accurate recording and retrieval of electronic data; assisting with the communication of information. It is essential that the Medical Receptionist communicates with respect, empathy, diplomacy, and tact and requires organization, and a high-level of attention to detail. The medical receptionist will comply with all policies and procedures as established by Euclid Telehealth. The medical receptionist reports to the Area Manager and the Director of Operations.

At Euclid Telehealth, we focus on eye disease screening for the leading causes of vision loss and blindness, such as: glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and others. Our mission is to provide ocular health screening to everyone and ultimately eliminate preventable vision loss and blindness through the early detection of eye disease, by providing expert Ophthalmic care in a convenient, modern way.
This is a part-time position (currently 8 days per month; variable days per week; 8-hour days) and could potentially become a full-time position (Monday to Friday; 8 hour per day) in the near future. Evenings and weekends could be possible in the future.
1. Medical Receptionist - Tasks and Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a Medical Receptionist will include, inter alia:
Provide superior patient care and customer service in supporting the tasks and responsibilities of the Medical Receptionist position in achieving a high professional performance while ensuring that all operational processes and Professional Service Procedures and Policies are followed
Receive patients and others at the reception desk.
Register, obtain and update patient demographics, general information and other relevant data for registration via telephone or in person in a timely, complete and accurate manner into the EMR.
Answer the telephone, make appointments, enter information into the EMR.
Schedule clinic and diagnostic appointments, cancels and/or reschedule appointments as required.
Respond to patient inquiries within the range of clerical and administrative competence.
Demonstrate ability to be flexible and to function well within a team environment.
Work in conjunction with other admin staff to manage a registration process, dealing directly with patient issues to ensure a quick and smooth registration process in the clinic.
Perform other tasks relating to the operation or maintenance of the clinic.
Operate office equipment such as EyeVu (EMR), voice mail messaging systems (3CX), and use word processing, spreadsheet, and other software applications to prepare letters, etc.
Transmit correspondence by e-mail, or fax.
Participate in weekly Euclid Team Huddle and Medical Review Meetings on a regular basis.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or his/her delegate.

What your background is:
2+ years of experience, ideally healthcare industry, or other patient care setting.
Experience in an ophthalmological or optometric setting is valuable but not required.
High school or equivalent, Office Administration Certificate an asset.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Reporting System (EMR).
Able to follow multiples guidelines and procedures.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Legally able to work in Canada.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly to use hands and fingers, handle documents, and talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms as is required to stand and walk. The employee is also required to drive an automobile and travel to clinics, when requested by the Director of Operations or his/her delegate. A valid driver’s license is required.
