The Operations Manager is the lead for the daily needs of all aspects of the business to ensure smooth operations and provide excellent customer service. As the lead, candidate will be responsible for:
• Sales & Customer Service: Candidate will be the primary contact for potential and existing customers and provide accurate sales and support information as needed.
• Customer Retention: Candidate will troubleshoot any issues or problems that might arise with customers, employees or other business situations to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Operations & Scheduling: Candidate will be the end point of contact to provide needed information and make decisions to ensure smooth daily operation of the business.
• Training & Employee Management: Candidate will support all team members regarding appropriate procedures and protocols to ensure optimal business outcomes.
• Business Growth: Candidate will regularly evaluate the different areas of operation, set goals and implement related actions with the purpose of improving all areas of the business.
This position is flexible with in-office and remote work Monday-Friday. Candidate should be available during normal business hours M-F to perform the duties of this position, as well as on-call needs on weekends to answer emails. Occasionally there are potential needs outside of normal business hours. At times, hours could be devoted to tasks such as employee training or covering tasks (Out on routes for cleanings) for an absentee employee. Largely, time will be spent ensuring daily operations are running smoothly which will allow independent time for developing new sales, operational improvements and ONLINE marketing strategies.
Major Functions:
Communicating with the owner.
• Manage customer relations. Includes managing daily phone calls and troubleshooting/resolving customer issues. The ability to communicate effectively with customers is key. Excellent written and verbal skills are a must.
• Manage customer invoicing and ensure bookkeeping is kept accurate and up-to-date. Compile reports and summaries to regularly keep owner informed of business activities and outcomes.
• Regularly evaluate the work and actions of employees to ensure optimal and accurate performance across time. Manage employee time sheets and evaluate for accuracy.
• Effectively communication needs and expectations to employees as well as work to resolve employee issues if they arise.
• Cover shifts and duties of the field technicians if an employee is out or we are short staffed. Yes, there is the potential that the Operations Manager could be out working a route and picking up pet waste if route coverage is needed.
• Evaluate, plan and implement marketing strategies across a variety of platforms including print, online avenues, website and social media platforms.
• Actively engage in the hiring process for new employees.
• Perform direct sales to onboard new customers as well as develop and implement strategies for obtaining new customers.
• Maintain best inventory control practices to ensure accurate record of inventory and adequate supplies are always on hand.
• Evaluate current practices of business operation and devise strategies for improvement in any areas that are currently not shown to be effective.
• Problem-solve issues as they occur and actively work on resolutions in a professional manner.
Other Functions:
• Foster a motivated team atmosphere with all employees.
• Review business reports and analyze for issues or improvements.
• Manage marketing and hiring advertisements and evaluate for effectiveness.
• Plan and implement updates for online outlets such as the website and social media.
• Provide assistance and support to company personnel as needed.
• Research solutions for company needs as they arise.
• Foster positive relationships with customers and vendors alike.
• Generate ideas for increasing online sales and implement ideas.
• Availability to work at events as promotional representative.

Working Conditions:
Hybrid remote and in-office, M-F with minimal weekend and on-call needs.
Office attire very casual, uniform shirt and company truck provided for any field work.
60 day probational period
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
