Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented part-time Law Clerk to support our real estate practice. The successful candidate will assist with all stages of a real estate transaction, working approximately 23 hours per week, with potential for increased hours.

Example of Weekly Schedule:

Monday to Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Thursday to Friday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Please note: While we aim to maintain a regular schedule, some flexibility may occasionally be required depending on scheduled closings and client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Open and manage client files
Review and summarize Agreements of Purchase and Sale
Conduct title searches and prepare requisition letters
Draft and assemble closing documents (Transfer, Charge, Statement of Adjustments, Direction, etc.)
Coordinate with clients, lenders, and other legal counsel
Schedule document signings and closing logistics
Prepare reporting letters to clients and lenders
General administrative and file organization duties
Occasionally assist with marketing and business development support tasks
Qualifications

Law Clerk diploma or certification from an accredited program (or experience)
0–2 years of experience in residential real estate law (recent grads welcome)
Familiarity with Conveyancer, Teraview, and real estate file processes an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently in a small firm environment
Strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
Bilingualism (French) an asset
