We are looking for a knowledgeable and reliable Part-Time Retail Sales Assistant with strong horse experience to join our Sarina store.
This role is customer-facing and advisory in nature, so hands-on experience with horses is essential. You will be assisting customers with product selection, answering horse-related questions, and helping less-experienced riders make informed, safe choices.
Western riding experience is highly regarded, but the key requirement is solid, practical knowledge of horses.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing confident, informed advice on equestrian products
- Assisting customers with fit, function, and suitability of products
- Delivering friendly, professional customer service
- Operating the POS system and processing sales
- Opening and closing the store as rostered
- Maintaining store presentation and merchandising standards
- Restocking shelves and managing incoming stock
- Supporting customers with varying levels of horse experience
- Representing the brand with professionalism and integrity
Essential Requirements
- Strong, practical experience handling and working with horses
- Ability to confidently recommend equestrian products based on horse and rider needs
- Comfortable assisting beginner to intermediate horse owners
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Strong communication skills
Highly Regarded (but not essential)
- Western riding or competition experience (e.g. barrel racing, campdrafting, Western pleasure, rodeo disciplines)
- Retail or customer service experience
Knowledge of Western tack and equipment
Hours & Pay
Approximately 3 days per week
Pay in accordance with the General Retail Industry Award
Superannuation paid
