Job description

We are looking for a friendly, well organised person to join our team as a Cleaner on a casual contract. This position will be to cover absences as and when required across both our sites, Farley Junior Academy and Whipperley Infant Academy.

Cover is 2.5 hours per evening, exact hours are dependant on the site you are covering.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic committed professional to join us as a Pastoral Support Teaching Assistant

The successful candidate will:

• Mentoring, supporting and inspiring learners by supporting them with curriculum-based learning in the classroom, on home tuition and outreach and through outdoor activities

• Assist with the preparation of learning material and contributing to the delivery of learning objectives with a strong focus on behavioural management

• Daily reports on learners’ progress and barriers to learning

• Knowledge and experience in implementing trauma-informed practices to support students facing emotional challenges, ensuring they feel safe, understood, and supported

• An ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external support agencies to create a holistic approach to each student’s development

• A genuine enthusiasm for working within an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) environment and a desire to foster positive relationships with students

• Expertise in providing pastoral care that addresses the emotional, social, and academic needs of students, fostering a culture of respect and inclusion

• Proven strategies and experience in behaviour management and interventions that positively influence student behaviour and learning outcomes

Our ideal candidate will have:

• A committed and passionate view of students with SEND

• At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision

• A level 3 TA qualification is advantageous

At New Ways College:

New Ways is an Outstanding Independent SEN School with two sites. Our KS3 students attend our school site in South Birmingham (B38), and our KS4 KS5 students attend our college site in North Worcestershire (B60).
