We’re looking for someone who can craft a variety of delicious pastries and other goods. If you have a flair for pastry making, enjoy developing new recipes, and are up to date with current trends, this role is perfect for you!
• Responsibilities:
— Create and prepare recipes for a wide range of goods, including cakes, cookies, and pies.
— Develop new and exciting desserts for our fixed menu and seasonal offerings, while being experimental and innovative with new products.
— Manage the pastry section of our kitchen, collaborating with the executive and sous chefs to ensure a successful working environment.
— Meet with clients to discuss custom-made desserts and pastries for special occasions (such as weddings and birthdays).
— Ensure the pastry section adheres to all safety and health regulations.
— Identify staffing needs and supervise and train new pastry assistants and bakers when necessary.
2. Skills and Qualifications:
— Extensive knowledge of baking and pastry-making techniques.
— A minimum of 5-7 years of experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
— Artistic skill in decorating desserts.
— In-depth understanding of sanitation principles and food preparation standards.
— Strong leadership skills and the ability to provide clear instructions to other members of the pastry staff. (Strong communication and interpersonal skills.)
— Familiarity with a range of baking and kitchen equipment.
— The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
— A meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
