Job Description
Acts as a patient advocate and liaison between hospital administration and management and patients and families to improve the patient experience and satisfaction with hospital care and services. The position falls under the Quality and Patient Safety umbrella and reports to the System Director of Risk Management, Risk Management Department. The advocate works directly with clinical risk management and general counsel. Identifies and resolves patient concerns through direct interaction with the patient and family and in collaboration with department leaders (nursing staff, nursing leadership, physicians and related clinical and nonclinical parties). Proactively identifies trends in patient concerns and issues and participates in improvement initiatives to enhance patient experiences.
• Nursing degree required, BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical healthcare experience required
• Active RN license
• Previous experience in patient education and or patient advocacy and liaison preferred.
• Knowledge of patient rights and regulations preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly adapt to hospital application.
