Patient Food Services Attendant
Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital
Participate as a team member across all areas of the Catering Department and contribute as required in the prompt & timely delivery of patient meals. This includes; the production and service of patient meals, clearing patient trays, cleaning, general kitchen duties and movement of food stocks.
The Position
Under direction from supervisor;
Serve meals and assist with portion control plating and production.
Ensure all items requested are placed on patient tray as per the meal tray cards.
Ensure all items are washed, put away or prepared correctly.
Ensure all items required are placed on trolleys.
Deliver and collect meal trolleys and other trolleys to the wards.
Assist dishwashing duties, includes the washing up of large heavy-duty pots, pans and other kitchen utensils.
Observe and practice all aspects of food, kitchen and personal hygiene.
Assist with general kitchen hygiene maintenance includes; washing of walls, floors, refrigerators etc. and other areas as requested.
Delivery of food stock to the wards and other departments as requested.
Train and assist the orientation of new caregiver/s as directed.
When necessary be prepared to assist other departments by performing duties as directed.
Follow hygiene standards as established under the Hospital Food Safety Plan and Health Department Regulations.
Maintains a high level of personal cleanliness including attire and grooming.
Achieves mandatory annual hospital competencies and assumes responsibility for record maintenance.
All other reasonable duties as directed by the relevant Manager/Supervisor
You will have customer service and industrial food handling skills experience including hygiene standards and knowledge of safe Housekeeping, Safe Manual Handling Techniques and Safe Chemical Use.
To succeed you will have organisation skills, with the ability to set priorities and meet multiple deadlines and a high level of customer service skills including flexibility, tact and diplomacy. You will have interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to individuals and groups including senior management, caregivers, external professional service providers, our clients and the public.

Salary: $58,+7+ to $61,085 pro rata for part time, plus 11.5% superannuation
Permanent part time positions up to 40 hours per fortnight
