What you'll be doing
The Patient Safety Manager at Westmead Hospital leads the strategic and operational delivery of patient safety functions, driving excellence in care through robust governance frameworks. With a strong foundation in clinical practice and governance, the role is central to implementing safety initiatives, managing clinical risk, and fostering continuous improvement across the hospital.

Selection Criteria:
Possess an undergraduate degree in health with significant recent clinical experience in a health care setting and/or equivalent work experience in complex health care settings relevant to clinical governance.
Demonstrated experience in application of the concepts, principles and practice of clinical governance, including patient safety, clinical risk management, quality improvement and complaints management.
Demonstrated ability to analyse, monitor, report and evaluate patient safety initiatives
Knowledge of culture change, human factors and quality and safety techniques including clinical practice improvement and root cause analysis.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and a demonstrated ability to needs assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate patient safety and clinical quality educational activities.
Demonstrated superior written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive reports.
Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate, consult and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated experience working constructively with clinical staff in complex health care organisations and demonstrated peer leadership skills with the ability to effectively motivate and develop staff in a multidisciplinary environment.
