Description:
About the role

Reporting to the Principal Engineer (Pavements), and based out of our South East Queensland office, this newly created role is part of our internal pavement engineering consultancy (SP Design) team. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge and experience with Austroads Guide to Pavement Technology, specifically; Part 2, Part 4D, Part 4K and Part 5. You will have previous experience in relation to the application of state road authority pavement design supplements and the ability to interpret and evaluate complex geotechnical field and laboratory results. Duties

Pavement design analysis and preparation of design reports for internal and external clients across Australia for new pavements and predominantly for the design of rehabilitation treatments, including provision of solutions that consider all flexible pavement material types
Organise and supervise geotechnical field investigations and subsequent laboratory testing
Occasional Project Engineering activities on projects and/or estimating functions
Other duties as required

Skills & Experience

Civil engineering degree or geotechnical engineering degree essential
CPEng or RPEng (or working towards certification)
Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) and/or Victoria beneficial but not essential
Demonstrated experience in flexible pavement design using empirical and empirical-mechanistic analysis with pavement design software such as CIRCLY
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with heavy duty pavement design will be highly regarded (airfields, haul roads, industrial pavements)
Spray seal design will be highly regarded
