Job Overview & Responsibilities:
The Payment Poster is responsible for posting payments and denials to patient accounts both manually and electronically. Balance, log, record deposits/batches and track completion on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Posts all checks, ERAs, and credit cards to patients’ accounts accurately and timely
Ensures payments, allowances, adjustments, denials and rejections are posted correctly
Balances and reconciles daily batch deposits
Identify and report any payment discrepancies
Reviews and ensures corrections are made
Research and clear unapplied payments
Assists in the month-end closing by ensuring all appropriate information is posted
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications & Pay Range:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years’ experience in revenue cycle in a healthcare environment
Knowledge and understanding of healthcare EOBs (explanation of benefits)
Basic understanding of MS Office (Excel and Word)
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
General Math Skills/Proficient in 10-key calculator
