Job type: Full-time, permanent

Pay range: $52,000 - $62,000 per year

We’re looking for a Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our People & Culture team based in the Chester office in Vancouver, BC. This individual will report to the Payroll & Benefits Manager.

Job Overview: Reporting to the Payroll & Benefits Manager, this role is responsible for performing the day-to-day payroll activities, ensuring all aspects of the payroll function are carried out. This includes preparing and distributing the payroll, calculating withholding taxes and other payroll deductions, as well as preparing and distributing T4 slips. They will maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by ensuring absolute confidentiality.

You will have the opportunity to:

Process full-cycle for salary, hourly and union bi-weekly payroll using our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) across multiple provinces (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario).

Reconcile, file and remit payment/contributions (WCB, EHT, RRSP, etc.) on a regular basis.

Calculating and recording journal entries for payroll for each pay period, and monthly accruals.

Prepare period end labour analysis and assist with any payroll audit inquiries.

Maintain reconciliations for all payroll accounts.

Administer the Group Benefit Plan and Group Retirement Plan.

You will be a good fit if you:

Possess 2 years of experience with full-cycle Canadian payroll administration.

Have experience using Human Resources Information System software (Dayforce is an asset).

Are comfortable with MS Excel functions like VLOOKUP, filtering and sorting, Pivot tables, etc.

Are a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP), or working towards that certification is an asset.

Have experience with Quebec payroll processes or are proficient in French (are considered assets)

Are able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Are highly organized, detail orientated with the ability to problem solve.
