Responsibilities
Enter and verify payroll data accurately using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and QuickBooks.
Assist with payroll processing by reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Support benefits administration activities including enrollments, updates, and inquiries related to employee benefits.
Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, including deductions, bonuses, and adjustments through data entry and account reconciliation.
Collaborate with human resources and accounting teams to ensure proper integration of payroll data with general ledger accounting and governmental reporting.
Assist in preparing reports on payroll expenses, tax filings, and other financial analysis tasks using financial software tools.
Handle inquiries from employees regarding payroll issues promptly while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Requirements
Proven experience with payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos or UltiPro.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits, journal entries, and bookkeeping practices.
Familiarity with financial concepts related to corporate accounting, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, accounts payable/receivable.
Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or similar tools; experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing skills preferred).
Ability to analyze financial data effectively and perform account reconciliation tasks confidently.
Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll processing is advantageous.
Strong organizational skills combined with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
