About the opportunity

In this hands on role, we are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll team of three, ensuring efficient preparation, processing, reporting, and maintenance of employee payroll and records. This role includes providing data for payroll forecasting and budget preparation, managing fortnightly payroll and manual payments, ensuring timely superannuation payments, and maintaining compliance with ATO legislation. Responsibilities also include overseeing state payroll taxes and workers' compensation levies, processing payroll journals and reconciliations, producing accurate reports, resolving PeopleSoft payroll ITSM issues, assisting auditors, undertaking special projects, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies.

About you

You will have demonstrated experience and knowledge of payroll and payroll functions, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. A proven ability to manage high volumes of work, prioritise tasks within established time frames, and maintain high-quality standards. An understanding of the critical importance of confidentiality due to primary access to sensitive employee information is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook) and excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills are required. The ability to work autonomously is crucial, and knowledge of the Kronos scheduling system and PeopleSoft Payroll is beneficial.
