We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to supervise a small team of payroll officers in a high-volume payroll environment.

About the Role
You will join the team as a Payroll Manager. You will work with and lead experienced Payroll Officers who are familiar with working in a high volume fast paced environment within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Working with a team to process payroll for 1,700 + employees on a weekly basis.
Lead, coach, and support your team of payroll professionals, driving performance and continuous development
Ensure compliance and adherence to all relevant industry awards and stay up to date with any changes to legislation.
Support payroll officers with a timely response to payroll queries.
Lead the payroll system configuration and testing in consultation with the Systems Manager.
Responsible for lodging the group payroll tax including the annual reconciliation.
Oversee superannuation, leave, termination payments, workers' compensation, and employment-related tax obligations.
Complete the end of year STP finalisation.
Complete manual long service leave calculations.
First escalation point for payroll issues.
Providing reports to key stakeholders on a weekly and monthly basis.
Responding to payroll queries in a timely manner.
Complete all month end and year end activities.
Business partnering and liaising with HR, finance and executive teams
Process improvements and recommendations
About You
5+ years' experience managing a high performing team of payroll professionals.
Strong experience processing end to end payroll.
Ability to interpret awards and legislation. Working within the Hospitality Industry would be beneficial.
Being able to operate with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.

Sound technical payroll skills
Experience using Deputy and Wage Easy advantageous
