The key accountabilities of the role:


Provide day-to-day leadership and coordination for operational payroll processing across Managed Services
Inspire and lead a high-performing, and pro active customer-focused team
Ensure team success through robust documentation, process adherence, training, and development
Communicate vision, strategy, and goals clearly and consistently
Leverage data and reporting to support decision-making and performance management
Deliver on agreed outcomes, OKRs, SLAs, and KPIs
Drive improvements in Net Promoter Score (NPS) and Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT)
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of payroll in line with client schedules
Act as point of escalation, ensuring follow-through and resolution
Drive operational improvements that save time or generate revenue (scalability)
Foster strong client relationships and drive client retention and advocacy
Champion governance, compliance, and audit readiness
Contribute to the strategic growth of Managed Services
Promote an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative team culture
The key responsibilities of the role:


Lead and mentor teams to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll and fulfilment services
Set clear team direction and manage daily/weekly/monthly priorities
Align team and individual KPIs with broader business OKRs and strategy
Ensure systems, people, and processes are in place for operational excellence
Build and develop high-performing teams with strong engagement and capability
Oversee end-to-end payroll processing aligned with SLAs and client agreements
Manage team resourcing and portfolio allocation fairly and strategically
Lead regular team meetings, huddles, and cross-functional forums
Monitor and report on KPIs and SLAs, internally and externally
Lead operational meetings and execute actions from stakeholder feedback, NPS, CSAT, and risk reviews
Coach and support team development through regular 1:1s and development plans
Identify performance improvement opportunities and establish clear goals
Conduct quality assurance reviews on individuals and processes
Champion and lead continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes, and people
Ensure data integrity across all platforms and tools used by the team
Maintain accurate operational documentation (processes, reports, schedules)
Develop strong internal and external relationships and stakeholder trust
Stay up to date with payroll platform capabilities to support the team and clients
Maintain operational registers (risk, complaints, exits) to ensure oversight and compliance
Manage revenue targets and ensure support charges are tracked, billed, and recovered
Ensure accurate invoicing in alignment with finance processes and timelines
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for payroll product updates and fixes
Ensure smooth client transitions from implementation to BAU
Collaborate with BDMs and CSMs for seamless service delivery
Ensure team compliance with ISO 27001, leave balances, and audit requirements
Partner with Compliance to ensure staff are confident and capable in compliance responsibilities
Support internal and external audits as required
Participate in personal and team professional development
Uphold ReadyTech values and contribute to a transparent, collaborative culture
Provide regular and constructive feedback to team members and support the people performance review process

Advanced payroll technical knowledge
Understanding of EBAs, modern awards, and their interpretation
Proficient in payroll systems
5+ years hands on experience in Payroll
3-4+ years experience in a leadership position.
Significnt Leadership experience in fast paced, high volume Payroll, Customer Service, Contact Center, or Operations area
Creating new processes and modifying existing processes to meet business needs
Proficency in devolping effective relationships with all levels of stakeholders
Proven Experience in process Improvement for scalability
Managing Workflow and Resource planning / Salesforce CRM experience
Hiring and developing talent
Building and leading a high performing team/s. Coaching and developing people, getting the best of people
Proven track record of driving measurable efficiency results
Managing complex payrolls of various industries and size in a high volume and fast paced environment
Managing multiple priorities and projects to deliver against tight deadlines
Identifying and resolving customer escalations
Excellent data and overall analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to meet goals in a rapidly changing environment
