Youll be responsible for:
Driving continuous improvement in payroll services, processes, and systems.
Leading and supporting a high-performing team to deliver accurate, proactive payroll services.
Managing BAU while planning and implementing strategic projects.
Identifying risks and opportunities early and developing solutions that enable positive business outcomes.
Our payroll function was established three years ago and is based in Wellington. The team is thriving, and we need a leader who can provide stability, guidance, and growth opportunities.

Proven payroll expertise in a complex operational environment.
Experience driving projects and championing continuous improvement.
Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, empowering approach.
A sound understanding of current NZ employment and payroll legislation and HR practices.
A demonstrated understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi;
An understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural issues and a knowledge of tikanga M ori and Pacific people's culture.
Ability to balance operational accuracy with strategic thinking.
Experienced, confident, and credible at building strong relationships both internally and externally at all levels of the organisation, collaborating effectively with all stakeholders
