ABOUT THE BRANCH

The Service Delivery Office (SDO) is a leader in providing services under the Whole-of-Government Shared Services Programme. The SDO presents a unique opportunity to be involved in developing innovative service delivery arrangements, with an approach to collaboration and sharing of resources that has the potential to add value to not only existing customers but to set the scene for new ways of working across the Australian Public Services.

The Payroll Operations team manages the payroll services to SDO clients to enable them to increase productivity and concentrate on their core business. We are responsible for the management and administration of all payroll systems and processes associated with human resources data and reporting. We are committed to consistently improving service standards through innovation, systems, and process enhancements.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As an APS Level 3/4 Payroll Officer you are required to undertake tasks of moderate complexity and work under minimal supervision. You will work in a small team responsible for providing payroll services to a large client base with a real customer service focus. You are accountable for meeting daily and weekly goals and are expected to organise your own workload and make decisions within defined parameters. As this role involves a high level of client contact you will be required to communicate with and provide information to a range of external stakeholders.

The role is responsible for:


Administering payroll entitlements using the SAP payroll system based on client Enterprise Agreements, policies and legislation.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholder on payroll related matters to maintain compliance and ensure positive customer outcomes.
Respond to customer queries within Service Level Agreement timeframes.
Work as a member of a team to ensure the delivery of the fortnightly payroll and ongoing management of employee entitlements
Contribute to the ongoing continuous improvement of payroll processes and practices.
