About the Role:

GPA is seeking a Payroll Officer to join our Finance and Administration team based in our Adelaide office.

As our Payroll Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in line with all legislative and contractual requirements. You’ll manage end‑to‑end payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and providing high‑quality support to team members across the business.

This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, a commitment to confidentiality, and a passion for delivering excellent service in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Duties

You will support the payroll function for a workforce of over 400 employees, ensuring accurate and timely processing while delivering a high level of customer service across the business. Your responsibilities will include:

Ensuring compliance with all Federal and State legislation, as well as company policies and procedures.
Processing monthly payroll accurately and on time, including:
Reviewing and validating timesheets
Maintaining and updating employee records (new starters and changes)
Supporting payroll tax and Workcover reporting (as required)
Managing superannuation data and payments
Responding to internal and external payroll enquiries
Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies
Assisting with broader finance and administration tasks, including invoicing and accounts payable

We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused payroll professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment. You take pride in accuracy and have a strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance. To be successful, you will have:

At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in Payroll and Administration
Proven experience in MYOB and MS Office (essential)
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Good verbal and written communications skills
A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team
A proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement
Strong relationship-building skills with both internal stakeholders and external clients
A requirement for this role is to complete a satisfactory Australian police clearance.
