An established company, located in Brooklyn, is looking for an intelligent, energetic, and motivated individual to join their payroll team.
The right candidate must be bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and must come with a payroll background. The Payroll Specialist must be comfortable working in a both a team environment and on their own.
Responsibilities:
Manage and process weekly payroll.
Ensure accurate and timely entry of payroll data, including hours worked, deductions, and bonuses.
Prepare and distribute paychecks to employees.
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions.
Analyze payroll reports and provide insights to management.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements by providing payroll-related information.
Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information.
Assist employees with payroll questions in addition to troubleshooting solutions to gain access to their profile.
Report to the Payroll administrator with all payroll issues and concerns.
Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data in the payroll system and to assist employees with onboarding as needed.
Requirements:
Previous experience in payroll is a must (at least 2 years).
Experience with Unions is a plus.
Experience in using a HRIS.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
Ability to analyze and interpret complex payroll data.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
