We have an opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join the PC Employment Practices team on a permanent basis.

In this role you will provide confidential, accurate and timely payroll services for all MBIE employees. You will bring your strong understanding of current New Zealand payroll legislation, including the holiday's act and firm understanding of complex contractual agreements to accurately process employee records and process through to payment. You will utilise your strong customer service skills to respond to employee and other requests and queries.

You will have a collaborative approach with ability to work well within a busy team environment, sharing your knowledge and embracing new ideas and ways of doing things. You will demonstrate your ability to effectively prioritise your workload, remove roadblocks and work to tight deadlines to ensure that SLAs are met, fully documented and audited at all times.

The PC Employment Practices team is on a journey to become a genuinely outstanding function that is recognised as such by its stakeholders. In this role you will help guide the delivery of successful and sustainable outcomes to deliver `real' value to the business

About the branch:

The Payroll Specialist reports into the Team Leader Payroll Processing in the PC Employment Practices Team.

The Branch comprises the following PC functions:

Payroll

People Hub

About the team:

The Employment Practices team sits within the P C Corporate Digital Shared Services Group. The Employment Practices team provides services around PC Employment Practice, including payroll, whilst ensuring contractual and legislative compliance.

Minimum of 2 years payroll experience

Proven Payroll administration and processing, in a large complex environment

Accurate data entry skills with strong numerical ability

Good understanding of payroll legislation and processes

Strong customer service focus

The ability to work under pressure and to tight timeframes

Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship management skills

Good excel skills an advantage

Must have legal right to live and work in NZ.
