Platform Software Development Lead Engineer

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems business unit is currently looking for a dynamic, results driven Platform Software Development Engineer/Senior Engineers for Platform Software development as part of the software engineering competency at our Technical Centre India in Bengaluru.
Position Summary
In this role, and under direct supervision of the Platform Solutions & Architect(s) Software Manager Software, the Platform Software Engineer will be responsible for design, development, documentation, and verification of embedded platform software for AutoSAR based Complex Power Electronics production projects to meet customer, internal, and regulatory requirement in a fast-paced start-up like environment within a Fortune 500 Organization.
Educational Qualifications B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Electronics / Communication / Electrical / Power Electronics / Instrumentation
Experience 8-10 years of work experience in embedded software design and development.
Automotive And AutoSAR Experience Preferred.
Major Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for full lifecycle development of AutoSAR based software reusable platform-based applications and drivers in support of BorgWarner’s electrification product portfolio.
• Contribute to development of re-usable SW assests for platform product line.
• Perform AutoSAR System configuration ( SWC compositions like Component instances, connectors) , optimize AUTOSAR based SW architecture in multicore environment.
• Streamline common architecture in compliance with standard architecture (AUTOSAR) across platform projects, optimum usage of reusable building blocks to improve efficiency and quality.
• Identify software optimization opportunities (MIPS, RAM, NVRAM) and continuously improve the efficiency of the platform software.
• Collaborate with customer production project teams for technical mentoring/problem solving & support integration of platform software.
• Develop SW in accordance with BorgWarner’s Automotive SPICE-compliant development process.
• Ensure documented traceability from requirements through test cases
• Work with global development teams to support platform development and integration.
• Responsible for leading key competency topics and mentoring the team members on these subject. Will contribute as SME for deliveries on the responsible components.
Major Job Qualifications / Skills
• Strong expertise in Programming (C/C++) and debugging for embedded multithreaded and multi core/CPU software environment.
• Experience in low-level driver design, development, and verification.
• Strong embedded software debugging skills.
• Strong ability to comprehend microcontroller hardware and associated schematics.
• Experience designing complex fault-tolerant safety systems and designing in accordance with industry standard specifications (e.g., ISO26262, ASPICE).
• Experience using industry standard development tools - e.g., toolchains, IDEs, configuration management, requirements, and design tools.
• Strong development experience with serial communication protocols such as CAN/CANFD, FLEXRAY, LIN, SENT, ETHERNET.
• Expertise in embedded software development tools such as cross compilers and debuggers.
• Preferred experience with developing scalable and reusable platform software solutions.
• Preferred experience with AUTOSAR architecture, Configuration & implementation of BSW modules for multiple SWCs, (DCM, DEM, CAN, CANIF, SPI, PDUR, MEMIF, NM, EEP, etc.,). Vector toolchain experience is a plus.
