We are seeking an experienced and skilled Penetration Testing Engineer to join our banking institution's cybersecurity team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive penetration testing activities to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses in our banking systems, applications, and networks. With your extensive experience in penetration testing and ethical hacking, you will play a crucial role in strengthening our security posture and ensuring the protection of sensitive customer information.
Responsibilities:
• Perform end-to-end penetration testing of our banking systems, networks, and applications to identify potential vulnerabilities and security weaknesses.
• Conduct thorough analysis of security controls and configurations to determine their effectiveness and ensure compliance with industry best practices and standards.
• Plan and execute simulated attacks, including network intrusion, social engineering, and web application attacks, to assess the effectiveness of our defenses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential security risks and provide actionable recommendations for remediation.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive penetration testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks to streamline the testing process and enhance efficiency.
• Prepare detailed reports of penetration testing findings, including vulnerabilities discovered, potential impact, and recommended remediation measures.
• Work closely with the cybersecurity team to ensure that identified vulnerabilities and weaknesses are appropriately prioritized and addressed.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, attack vectors, and penetration testing techniques, and actively participate in professional development activities.
• Provide guidance and technical expertise to other team members on penetration testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Collaborate with external vendors and partners to conduct joint penetration testing exercises and ensure the security of interconnected systems.
• Participate in incident response activities, including analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery, as needed.
• Assist in developing and delivering training programs to enhance the overall security awareness of employees across the organization.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in penetration testing and ethical hacking, preferably in the banking or financial services sector.
• Extensive knowledge of penetration testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks, such as OWASP, OSSTMM, and NIST SP 800-115.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, web application technologies, and common security vulnerabilities.
• Proficient in conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and social engineering engagements.
• Experience with security testing tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nessus, Nmap, and Wireshark.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as PCI DSS and ISO 27001.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically during penetration testing engagements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Professional certifications such as OSCP, OSCE, CEH, or GPEN are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
