Influence at scale: partner with senior leaders and shape people decisions
FLEX for all: program ensuring equitable access to flexible working for all
Be part of our growth story: Ranked fastest growing law firm in Australia!
At WK, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re passionate about creating an environment where our people feel supported, empowered, and able to do their best work.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a People & Culture Manager to join our national P&C team in Sydney, playing a key role in supporting our largest product line across Australia.

This is a true generalist role with plenty of variety. You’ll partner closely with senior leaders and Partners, build trusted relationships, and help shape a meaningful employee experience from attraction through to progression. If you love rolling up your sleeves, enjoy juggling a mix of BAU and project work, and thrive in a collaborative team without any egos, this could be the perfect next step.

What you’ll be doing

Operational & Cyclical P&C

You’ll play a central role in delivering the firm’s most important P&C cycles, ensuring our processes are not only executed smoothly, but genuinely support our people and Partners:

Lead the coordination and delivery of annual people processes including remuneration reviews, growth and progression cycles, people mapping and overseeing and supporting the early careers pathways program.
Drive recognition and engagement by planning and executing key events across the annual people calendar.
Work closely with Partners and employees to embed P&C processes across product lines, ensuring clarity, timeliness and a strong employee experience at every stage.
Provide high quality advice, documentation and insights that help leaders make well-informed people decisions.
Business Partnering

As a trusted advisor, you’ll be the go-to for leaders navigating both everyday and complex people matters:

Build strong relationships with senior leaders, partnering with them across the entire employee lifecycle, from attraction and onboarding through to development, performance and offboarding.
Provide expert coaching on ER matters, including performance management, disciplinary processes, grievance handling, conflict resolution and Award interpretation.
Lead and manage investigations with professionalism and fairness, ensuring processes are thorough, compliant and supportive of a psychologically safe workplace.
Play a key role in elevating leader capability through ongoing guidance, education and proactive support.
Work Health & Safety

You’ll champion wellbeing, safety and proactive risk management across the firm.

Design, implement and evaluate firm-wide health and wellbeing initiatives, bringing evidence-based thinking and innovation to support the physical, mental and social wellbeing of our people.
Partner with the Workplace Services Director to shape, refine and deliver the WHS strategy, ensuring our approach is practical, compliant and people-centred.
Conduct risk assessments and safety audits, monitor trends, and provide clear recommendations that support safe and productive working environments.
Coach leaders to build a strong safety culture — one where risks are identified early, conversations happen often, and wellbeing is embedded in everyday practice.
As well as

Work with Talent Acquisition to understand resourcing needs and contribute to selection and retention strategies.
Manage probation check-ins to ensure newcomers feel supported and set up for success.
Support onboarding through induction facilitation and allocation of buddies, seniors and juniors.
Partner with L&D to identify training needs, development areas and product line capability requirements.
Attend weekly advisor meetings, monthly State Lead meetings and facilitate monthly People & Partner sessions.
Use financial and utilisation data to provide insights and guide people-related decisions.
Support leaders in having early and constructive performance conversations.
Mentor and guide P&C BPs across ER matters, WHS and best-practice P&C processes.
Contribute to P&C projects aimed at enhancing employee experience, improving processes and driving continuous improvement across the firm.
What you’ll bring

Proven experience coaching and advising leaders across all facets of P&C.
Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and best practice.
Experience managing ER matters, investigations and Award interpretation.
A hands-on generalist background covering the full employee lifecycle.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to earn trust quickly.
Excellent attention to detail, organisation and the confidence to influence.
A team-first approach and willingness to support the broader P&C crew where needed.
