About the Role

This is your chance to be part of the development of innovative, enterprise-wide People & Culture reporting and analytics. Reporting to the Director of Shared Services, you’ll:
Design intuitive dashboards, performance metrics and predictive models that support strategic planning and workforce optimisation.
Provide expert insights using new tools.
Drive a culture of data literacy and collaboration across the University.
Translate complex data into compelling stories that influence real-world decisions.

This role isn’t just about reporting—it’s about unlocking the power of people data to fuel transformation and deliver tangible value. The People & Culture Data & Reporting Analyst will contribute to projects, develop performance metrics, and ensure a high standard of customer service for internal and external stakeholders.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

Data & Analytics Expertise

Proven experience in HR reporting, data analysis, and dashboard development

Advanced skills in analytical and business intelligence tools (e.g. Excel, Python, SQL)

Ability to design data solutions that align with standard processes and government regulations in complex, regulated environments

Technical & System Knowledge

Strong understanding of HR systems, data governance, and compliance requirements

Familiarity with the Australian university and vocational education (VE) sectors, including government structures and processes

Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a sharp attention to detail

Capable of working effectively in both structured and ambiguous settings, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organisational levels

Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders to drive change and support data-informed decision-making

Customer Focus & Service Orientation

High level of customer service with a results-driven mindset

Skilled at understanding client needs and translating them into practical, data-driven solutions

Planning & Organisation

Exceptional organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and deliver high-quality outcomes on time


Qualifications

Relevant qualifications in Data Analytics, Data Science and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Relevant qualifications in Human Resources and extensive relevant experience.
