Your Position:

It is an exciting time to join the People & Performance Directorate at Burwood Council as we continue to focus on enhancing our workplace for all staff. Key projects are set to be delivered focused on culture, values, systems and improving the way we work and this position represents an excellent opportunity to be part of this journey.

Reporting to the Director ? People & Performance, and supporting the broader People & Performance team, you will be integral in the Directorate's delivery of quality services to the organisation.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:-

Acting as the back-up to Council's Payroll Officer and working on the implementation of our new Employee Self-Service system
Providing high level administrative support to the People & Performance Directorate
Working collaboratively with administration staff from across the organisation to meet the needs of our community
Preparing reports, policies, procedures and other documentation to a high standard
Maintaining and enhancing Council's Human Resource Information System
Supporting the Director, People & Performance
To be successful in this role you will have:-

A Diploma in Business Administration or a related discipline or equivalent relevant experience
Significant experience in providing high quality administrative support to a multi-disciplined team
Solid project management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills coupled with outstanding attention to detail
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines
A Class C driver's licence


Key Requirements:

COVID 1+ vaccination for all employees (2 Vaccines)
Willingness to complete a National Police History Check
Willingness to complete a pre-employment health assessment (Where applicable)
Current Driver's Licence
Local Government working experience an advantage ?
