Job Description (JD) for PGT Home Science Teacher
Position : PGT Home Science Teacher
Location : Faridabad
Job Overview :
The PGT Home Science Teacher is responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction in the field of Home Science, which encompasses Food and Nutrition, Textile and Clothing, Resource Management, Human Development, and Health & Hygiene.
The teacher will foster a dynamic learning environment, prepare students for higher education and practical life skills, and develop students’ understanding of the subject through both theoretical and practical approaches.
Key Responsibilities :
• Teaching and Instruction :
• Plan and conduct engaging lessons in line with the Home Science curriculum for senior secondary students.
• Teach various components of Home Science, including but not limited to Food Science and Nutrition, Human Development, Resource Management, Textiles, and Health & Hygiene.
• Provide students with practical knowledge through lab sessions, cooking classes, and hands-on projects.
2.Curriculum Development :
• Develop, adapt, and implement lesson plans in accordance with school guidelines and educational standards.
• Update the curriculum to incorporate new trends and research in Home Science, ensuring lessons remain relevant and up to date.
3.Student Evaluation and Assessment :
• Design and administer tests, quizzes, assignments, and practical assessments to evaluate student performance.
• Provide timely feedback to students and support their academic growth and personal development.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to parents during parent-teacher meetings.
4.Classroom Management :
• Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
5.Extracurricular Activities :
• Organize and supervise school projects related to Home Science such as food fairs, nutrition awareness programs, and textile design exhibitions.
• Encourage student participation in external Home Science competitions and seminars.
6.Professional Development :
• Stay updated with the latest developments in Home Science education through workshops, seminars, and relevant courses.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to ensure an integrated and holistic learning experience for students.
7.Student Guidance and Support :
• Act as a mentor to students, providing guidance on career paths related to Home Science (e.g., dietetics, fashion design, resource management).
• Offer counseling to students on personal development, family dynamics, and life skills.
8.Administrative Duties :
• Maintain lesson plans, attendance records, and grade reports.
• Participate in school meetings, workshops, and professional development programs as required.
• Assist in organizing parent-teacher meetings and school events.
