Position Overview
The Pharmacy Technician plays a key role in assisting pharmacists with day-to-day operations, ensuring patients receive safe, accurate, and timely medications. This role involves processing prescriptions, maintaining inventory, assisting patients and providers, and supporting compliance with state, federal, and company regulations.
You will work directly with patients, families, pharmacists, and healthcare providers—delivering the highest standard of care while helping to improve lives.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist patients and healthcare providers in person and over the phone.
Process prescriptions accurately using pharmacy systems.
Verify, count, and prepare medications under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
Maintain pharmacy inventory: check stock, place and expedite orders, remove expired medications.
Process insurance claims and resolve third-party reimbursement issues.
Assist with cash register operations and payment processing.
Support compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, and pharmacy regulations.
Ensure the pharmacy remains clean, safe, and organized.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, resolving concerns and answering questions.
Participate in ongoing training and maintain state-required certification/licensure.
Support the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager with workflow and team coordination.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
Licensure: Active state Pharmacy Technician Registration/Certification (required).
Experience: Minimum 1 year in a retail, clinical, or healthcare pharmacy setting.
Knowledge of pharmacy law, medical terminology, and prescription processing.
Strong organizational, math, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Willingness to travel occasionally for training if needed.
