Faculty Appointment Types Full Time-Limited Term Sessional Non-NRSL Job Summary

Provide instruction to Pharmacy Technician students in the lab environment
Evaluate students in the lab environment
Develop and maintain curriculum
Effectively collaborates with the Associate Dean and with program colleagues
Actively contribute to the college, school and program
Maintain positive relationships with the Associate Dean, program colleagues, other members of the College, and members of our communities as a whole
Will also meet the major accountabilities as documented in the college instructor job description


Skills & Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to teach and evaluate students
Excellent communication skills; classroom management and leadership skills
Ability to contribute to School and/or College initiatives and a commitment to continuous learning
Working knowledge of hospital dispensing and drug distribution systems
Experience applying the NAPRA Model Standards of Practice for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians in Canada, including Compounding of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Sterile Preparations.


Education and Experience

A Pharmacy Technician certificate or diploma from a CCAPP-accredited program and currently regulated as a Pharmacy Technician in British Columbia
Current practice in a hospital pharmacy environment, working to full scope of practice, including sterile compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous drugs
Prefer three to four years teaching experience in a post-secondary environment, and teaching across the curriculum
An equivalent combination of education and experience
