Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and maintain scalable PHP-based web applications.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
Perform troubleshooting and debugging of existing PHP applications to identify and fix issues.
Integrate data from various back-end services and databases using APIs.
Develop and maintain efficient database structures and queries to support application functionality.
Implement security measures to protect web applications against potential threats.
Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration of server-side logic with user interfaces.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to PHP development and web application development in general.
Assist in conducting code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Solid understanding of PHP and object-oriented programming principles.
Proficiency in working with databases, including MySQL or PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git.
Understanding of RESTful APIs and their integration into web applications.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality code.
Bonus Skills:
Experience with other programming languages, such as Python, Java, or Ruby.
Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
Understanding of web servers, such as Apache or Nginx.
Familiarity with testing frameworks, such as PHPUnit.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
