Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a PHP Laravel Developer at WHY Global Services located in Egmore. The PHP Laravel Developer will be responsible for back-end web development, object-oriented programming (OOP), front-end development, software development, and programming tasks. The developer will be involved in concept design, strategy development, implementation, and support of various projects.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain web applications using PHP Laravel framework.
Collaborate with the development team to define, design, and ship new features.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following Laravel best practices.
Troubleshoot, debug, and fix issues in existing applications.
Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
Optimize application performance and scalability.
Stay updated with the latest Laravel releases and best practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a PHP Laravel Developer or similar role.
Strong understanding of PHP and the Laravel framework.
Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
Experience with database systems such as MySQL.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
Good understanding of version control systems, preferably Git, Docker.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have:
Experience with other PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel).
Knowledge of front-end frameworks/libraries (e.g. React.js).
Understanding of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Digital Ocean
Contribution to open-source projects or active participation in developer communities.
