Schedule: Monday's - Friday's; 8am - 4pm
Role Summary
The PI System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the PI Historian System. This role ensures data integrity, system reliability, and seamless data flow across site operations, enterprise applications, and analytics platforms. The PI Administrator collaborates closely with operations, IT, OT, and data engineering teams to support real‑time data collection, visualization, reporting, and integration.
Core Responsibilities
1. PI System Installation & Configuration
· Install, configure, and maintain PI Server components including:
o PI Data Archive
PI Asset Framework (AF)
PI Vision
PI Interfaces and Connectors
PI Integrator
Manage PI Server upgrades, patches, and hotfix deployment.
Configure PI Collective, redundancy and high‑availability architectures.
Configure and manage data flow between Canary Historian and PI System.
2. System Monitoring & Maintenance
Monitor system performance, health, and data throughput.
Maintain and troubleshoot interface/connector failures.
Ensure reliable data collection from OT systems (SCADA, and Canary).
3. Security & Access Management
Administer PI System security:
Mappings, trusts, Identities, and AF security.
Implement best practices and harden current security.
4. Data Quality & Integrity
Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across PI tags and AF attributes.
Validate and troubleshoot bad inputs, flatlines, compression issues, and outliers.
Manage tag creation, tag naming conventions, and metadata standards.
5. AF Model & Asset Hierarchy Management
Build and maintain PI AF hierarchies, standardize templates, and attributes.
Configure calculations, PI Analysis rules, event frames, and notifications.
Partner with SMEs to model equipment, processes, and KPIs.
6. Visualization & Integration
Configure dashboards and displays in PI Vision.
Support users in creating trends, assets views, and contextualized displays.
Understand integration using JDBC, OleDB, ODBC, PI Web API, and AF SDK with other applications such as Spotfire, AVEVA Predictive Analytics and PI Integrator.
7. Troubleshooting & End‑User Support
Provide Tier‑2/3 support for PI‑related issues.
Troubleshoot data gaps, interface failures, client errors, AF calculation issues.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for incidents impacting PI System.
Document root cause, containment actions, corrective fixes, and long‑term preventive measures.
Provide training and support engineers, analysts, and operations on PI tools and data best practices.
8. Continuous Improvement
Maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and operational checklists.
Document PI tag standards, AF templates, naming conventions, and data governance rules.
Identify opportunities to improve data flows, reliability, and performance.
Evaluate and implement new PI/AVEVA features and enhancements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60.00 - $90.00 per hour
