Development of the pipe classes and data sheets of valves and other in-line accessories.
• Supporting Piping Calculations to be performed as per code, for client submission and approval.
• Ensuring compliance of those specifications with all applicable directives, codes and standards (ex. ATEX regulation, ASME piping code, material standards, etc.).
• Updating and Maintenance of all related standard documents (ex. piping specifications sheets, valve specifications sheets, welding requirements, NDE examination, technical notes, etc.).
• Follow up of all design codes for piping, update of all related technical documents in case of revision, information/training to colleagues when required.
• Review and approval of offers received from suppliers of piping components. (Pipes, fittings, flanges, valves, strainers, steam traps etc.)
Technical assistance to internal departments
• To Purchasing Departments of all OFO Division offices e.g. to ensure that purchased equipment complies with the standard specifications.
• To Piping Department of the Global Engineering Office in Bangalore e.g. to ensure proper implementation of the standards specifications, to check related drawings, to advise on piping design, calculations and deliverables.
• P&ID team of the Global Engineering Office in Bangalore to ensure e.g. drafting of P&IDS and reporting as per developed technical specifications and standards.
• Electrical Department of the Global Engineering Office in Bangalore and of Belgium e.g. to ensure development of consistent standards for instrumentation and hook-ups.
Requirements
Graduation (B.E / B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed university
• 4- 6 years of relevant experience in preparation of pipe classes and valve data sheets.
• Thorough knowledge in piping design codes and regulations (EN / PED / ASME B31.3)
• Thorough knowledge in performing piping calculations without use of software.
• Contacts with suppliers of piping, valves and accessories to select items in accordance with the developed technical specifications and standards.
