Job Description:
A piping stress engineer provides technical expertise in piping design. They develop static and dynamic piping models and analyze system stresses using pipe stress analysis software.
Responsibilities:
- Pipe Stress Analysis: Conduct pipe stress analysis using industry-standard software to assess the structural integrity of piping systems under various operating conditions.
- Pipe Support Design: Perform pipe support design and selection to mitigate stress concentrations and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the integrity and reliability of piping systems in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports, calculations, and documentation to support project deliverables and regulatory compliance.
- Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and support continuous professional development initiatives within the team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in piping stress analysis for upstream oil and gas projects.
- Software: Proficiency in using piping stress analysis software such as Caesar II or similar tools.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of industry standards and codes including ASME B31.3, API 610, ASCE 7, etc.
