Position Title

Placement Coordinator, Career Education and Experience Development (2 positions)

Position Summary

Are you driven by a passion for student success and eager to play a pivotal role in their educational journey? We invite you to become an integral part of our Career Education and Experience Development team as a Placement Coordinator.

As a Placement Coordinator, you will oversee the placement operations for designated courses, programs, and schools. Your collaborative spirit will be essential as you work across various internal departments, ensuring the seamless acquisition of mandatory professional practice, clinical and practicum placements. You will also be responsible for fostering strong external relationships with employers and stakeholders to manage placement activities effectively.

Position Responsibilities

Collaborate and consult with Faculty and Associate Deans to identify the educational requirements for practicum experiences for practicum courses and students; develop and revise systems for efficient planning and communication

Assess and evaluate new practicum sites for suitability and supports contract and documentation required for the acquisition of new clinical and placement sites, in collaboration with the Work-Integrating Learning team

Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with practicum agencies, and all parties involved in the placement processes and cycles

Coordinate communications and oversee the monitoring of student completion of academic and non-academic practicum requirements

Provide leadership by disseminating information, providing feedback, advising, coaching, supporting institutional projects, and encouraging development for colleagues and staff related to work-integrated learning

Collaborate on the development of new processes that facilitate compliance with placement agency planning timelines

Generate and analyze reports annually and as needed by program leads, senior administration, and the Polytechnic providing insights and updates as required

Required Qualifications

Four (4) year undergraduate degree

2-3 years of relevant experience

Knowledge of the practicum placement process within the work-integrated learning framework

Broad familiarity with post-secondary programming

Proven track record of establishing effective process

A high degree of accountability and a proactive approach to responsibilities

Proficiency in digital tools including MS Office and various web-based software

Exceptional communication skills, encompassing clear writing, attentive listening, and adept problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a post-secondary environment

Working knowledge of placement/practicum software

$34.5+ per hour

Benefits and Compensation Information

Term-certain contract is not benefit eligible:

An additional 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits.

Permanent contract is benefit eligible:
