Salary: $37.58 – 3+.14 – 40.74 – 42.45 – 44.22/hour (2024 Rates)
Schedule: 42 hours bi-weekly (.60% FTE); Monday to Wednesday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

This position works in Development. This is technical, clerical and drafting work in the gathering and preparation of diverse information relative to a variety of municipal planning matters. An employee of this class may be assigned the responsibility to research, collect, analyze and report to a superior on a specific aspect of a planning project. The Planning Assistant 3 researches, collects, analyzes, and reports to a superior on specific aspects of planning projects such as development inquiries and bylaws or policy matters. Assignments also include the processing of various permits and approvals, such as temporary use permits, development variance permits, and signage permits, or supporting rezoning or development permit applications. Responsibilities include assembling a variety of data from available sources to assist professional staff in their reply to specific requests for information and in their preparation of reports dealing with a wide range of planning matters.
Qualifications include completion of grade 12 supplemented by drafting and technical courses or an equivalent combination of training or experience. The successful candidate has considerable knowledge of the bylaws, department policies, practices and procedures. Sound knowledge of research, reporting, and land use or signage permit review applicable to municipal planning work. A Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.
