Job Description
Western Bay is a District undergoing significant growth and transformation. From planning for future communities to delivering the infrastructure that supports them, we’re focused on getting the fundamentals right — and preparing for what comes next.
We’re also focused on our people. At Western Bay, we believe in investing in and empowering our teams to grow, lead, and achieve their goals. Because when our people thrive, our communities do too.
If you're motivated by making the everyday better, helping people thrive, and leaving things better than you found them — we’d love to hear from you.
The opportunity
This role is a fixed term full time position to cover parental leave for 8 months.
If you enjoy working collaboratively, have a great eye for detail, and want to contribute to work that makes a real difference for our communities and environment, this role offers a rewarding way to get involved and grow alongside a passionate team.
About the role
This role assists the Environmental Planning team and wider Strategy and Community Group with effective project coordination and administrative support, to ensure effective delivery of priority work programmes enabling the sustainable growth and development of our District. This role is responsible for supporting and coordinating community engagement projects, consultative processes with members of our community, and general team communications, systems and processes.
Coordinate and assist with public consultation processes, events, workshops, hearings, and submissions—helping our community understand, access, and participate in Council processes.
Work closely with the Strategy and Community teams and alongside Communications to develop high-quality publications, presentations, reports, and web content using tools such as Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office.
Provide project and meeting coordination support, including diary management, agendas, minutes, presentations, catering, and acting as project secretary for key initiatives.
Maintain accurate records, submission processes, intranet and website pages, District Plan versions, and ensure documentation is accessible both online and in hard copy throughout consultation processes.
Continuously improve procedures and standards, support staff training in engagement tools, process invoices and purchase orders, and contribute to evaluating the effectiveness of engagement initiatives.
