About the role:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor the Leading hand will be responsible for ensuring team is meeting daily mining targets and carrying out safe mining activities.
Ability to step up into Mining Supervisor role if and when required.
Preferably a strong knowledge of mining equipment and processes within hard rock mining with up to 600 tonne class shovels/excavators with supporting ancillary equipment.
Familiarity with WHS Section 26 supervisor qualification legislation and best practices.

Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers. With an expected life of 30+ years, it will underpin a long-term iron ore business and provide sustainable benefits to the regional community where we operate.

What we are looking for:
Must have miniumum of 5+ years of hard rock mining experience
Experience operating Dump Trucks (CAT 7+3F, 777 or 40T articulated moxy)
Experience as Train Loader or All Round Operator (D10 dozers, 16M graders, roller and/or 777 or 40T articulated watercarts)
Experience as Production Excavator Operator - ideally experienced using face shovel attachment
Operators with Cat 6060’s, Hitachi EX5600, EX3600, EX1200 & Komatsu WA+00-8 Loader experience
Australian Manual Drivers Licence
Demonstrated behaviours which align with NRW’s values and safety standards
