About The Role
Join our dynamic GCIS team within the Institutional division at ANZ, where we are committed to maintaining robust, scalable platforms both on-premise and in the cloud.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our data center-hosted platforms as well as our Google Cloud Platform(GCP) infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Puppet, and Ansible.
• Perform administration tasks on Windows and Linux servers, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Manage network components, including load balancers and firewalls, and apply your networking experience to maintain and enhance our network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with various teams to design and build platform services, streamlining development and operational processes.
• Monitor system performance using tools such as New Relic and Splunk, proactively addressing issues to maintain system health.

What will you bring?
• Experience with configuration as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet preferable)
• Experience working with containers and container orchestration platforms (Docker and Kubernetes preferable).
• Experience with service meshes (Istio preferable)
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (Codefresh, GitHub Actions, and Bamboo preferable)
• Experience with .NET applications and development to build and maintain APIs.
• Database and SQL experience
• Cloud experience (GCP preferable).
• Windows and Linux server administration.
• Experience in one or more scripting languages (Powershell, Python & Bash).
• Networking exposure with knowledge of IP addresses, subnets, firewalls, VIPs, etc.
• Load balancer knowledge.
• Experience working with high availability architectures.
• Application and infrastructure monitoring tool experience (New Relic, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc).
• Exposure to event-driven architectures.
Soft skills
• Proactive self-starter with the ability to thrive in a highly autonomous squad-based team environment, consistently delivering value and achieving wins.
• Confidence in seeking clarification and asking questions to ensure alignment and understanding.
• Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong ability to understand complex business issues and break them down into manageable parts.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies and the integral role of a DevOps engineer within an agile team, contributing to continuous improvement and efficiency.
• Skilled in identifying opportunities for process and configuration automation, enhancing system reliability and operational efficiency.
