We firmly believe our employees are our best assets, and we are committed to providing ongoing training and support to allow them to reach their full potential. We are currently seeking an ambitious and driven Plumber/ Equipment Tech to round out our growing team in Calgary.

The Role

This role will be providing service to our clients in the Greater Calgary Area. As a service plumber at IGC, you’re the face of the company to our clients while on site, it is of utmost importance that the ideal candidate for this role is comfortable communicating professionally in person, as well as digitally. The successful candidate will be required to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of plumbing assets. They will also create accurate work orders and estimates for repairs required including time and materials. The ability to communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs and service required.

The successful candidate will be expected to be tech savvy, a team player that possess the technical knowledge to be able to investigate and troubleshoot with a high degree of proficiency while being able to report on their findings in a quick and detailed manner. They will be required to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial food equipment, including grease interceptors. All Training will be provided.

Responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and components.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, determine layouts of plumbing fixtures, water supplies, vent and drainage systems, repair and maintain domestic hot and cold-water systems, install residential, commercial, institutional, industrial or public buildings plumbing fixtures.
• Install, repair and maintain water heaters and water filtration system.
• Diagnose plumbing issues and develop effective solutions.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to work as a team or by yourself and attention to detail.
• Able to quote and complete projects in a timely manner
• Plumbers work in cooperation with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, legislation, and policies are met, and to ensure efficient completion of any project. Providing adequate services will ensure that all water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems are installed, repaired, and always adhere to safety standards and building code regulations.
• Identify required tools, special equipment and the type and size of pipe required
• Electrical and Mechanical fundamentals
• Diagnose plumbing issues, including those related to grease interceptors, and develop effective solutions.
• Plumbers work in cooperation with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, legislation, and policies are met, and to ensure efficient completion of any project. Providing adequate services will ensure that all water supply networks, waste and drainage systems, including grease interceptors, are installed, repaired, and always adhere to safety standards and building code regulations.

· Willingness to be on call periodically for afterhours/weekend/holiday service (THIS JOB IS NOT MONDAY TO FRIDAY 9-5)

· Must be able to lift at least 50-100 lbs

· Willingness to train/work on specific commercial food equipment. all training will be provided.
• Inspecting, repairing, and testing backflow assemblies.
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship while maintaining clean working environments.
• Must have very strong customer service and communication skills with ability to go above and beyond
• Strong use of mobile phone applications for record keeping and emails.
• Reports to the Facilities Services Manager and maintain communication with dispatch, parts and installation.

Qualifications

Journeyman Plumber Certificate (required, minimum 3-5 years experience)

Red Seal (Preferred)

Electrical and Mechanical Fundamentals

Backflow Certified (Preferred)
Valid Driver’s License and clean drivers abstract (required)
Clean criminal record (required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

• plumbing: 5 years (preferred)
• Equipment repair: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
• Journeyman or Red Seal License (required)
• Backflow or equivalent certificate (preferred)
